Doc Nocturnal Laboratory Set (10” High Version)
Hi Jason!
The set arrived today, and it's fantastic. The packing was generally very good (one casualty), and the setup was easy. The lighting features are really impressive. Here's a brief note on each bit:
• The walls and floor: very easy to connect and obvious how to do it. One of the window bars doesn't quite fit, but a bit of sticky tack solved the problem. I love that the windows are translucent so I can light them from behind but not transparent, so I don't have to have a backdrop.
• Radar machine: I love this thing. It's got so much going on, and the screen is perfectly bright. If I were to nitpick, I'd say the siren light is a bit dim compared to the rest, but light doesn't go through a magnet, so I don't have a solution for that (and it's really not a big deal).
• The zip zap tower: Wonderful. The size is great. I didn't realize until I messed with it for a bit that it had multiple lighting effects! The two blinking effects are great for the shelf, and I'm glad it has a solid on setting for pictures.
• The chamber: SO COOL. It's really imposing, lights up well, and the inside looks comfy. The wall cables bring huge atmosphere, and the skull lever as a switch is brilliant.
• The lab machine: This is very cool. I love the glow-in-the-dark bits, and the light-up feature works great. This was the one casualty of shipping: two of the feet broke off (no big deal; I can glue them). I think a small block of foam or a scrap of bubble wrap between the legs would save your future shipments.
Overall, this is an incredible set. Very nice work. Thank you for making it!

Thanks so much Nathan, it is great to get a point by point review and I am loving the fun pic with the Plunderlings invading the lab! I’m sending out a new mini lab machine to replace the broken one, along with a new light sconces plug-ins expansion to try out. They mount in place of the chamber cable inputs so that the diorama can be used for more scenes.
